This isn’t MIDI but I recently bought this board from adafruit:
*(Adafruit I2C Quad Rotary Encoder Breakout with NeoPixel - STEMMA QT / Qwiic)
because I had found this post about a DIY keypad and dials controller for krita :
**oh wait, their repo^ : GitHub - Alonsog2/InputDeviceForDrawingTablet: Input device for drawing tablets based on Arduino Pro Mircro
does use MIDI, so Krita is capable of using it for input/setting values? I don’t know how though.
I use the aruduino keyboard library to send ‘[‘ when the knob rotates left and ‘]’ if it rotates right as key presses***
Blender can do MIDI CC video here
I’m sharing this because I also thought about just using a MIDI controller like a tourbox but extremely less costly.
