Monthly Art Challenge – August 2024 – "I am 5-year-old Kiki and I'm scared of..."

Well, you have a point: it’s true that in history, the computers rather diminished in size with time!

I was thinking it was just one of those ‘show benches’ folks put in their front yard gardens. I tried a bench yesterday and it feels like it came out way too long…

Congratulations @Lynx3d, you are the winner of the August 2024 Monthly Art Challenge.

To everyone who submitted artwork and/or took the time to vote: Thank you and well done.

But wait, @Lynx3d… your work isn’t finished yet.

  1. Please post your winning submission in a new topic in the Finished Artwork category so we can feature it in the gallery.
  2. You have been granted a new winner’s badge for this competition. You can make this visible by editing your profile.
  3. Please choose the theme (as well as an optional challenge, if you wish) for the upcoming month.

Thanks everyone, so I finally managed to create something that people actually like. :kiki_love:

But I have to wonder how it would’ve scored if all the promising WIPs made it into the final voting…

Next theme…oof let’s see…we’ve had a bunch of fantasy ones, very abstract ones…cats (twice even)…but no food?
How about this?

Traditional Refreshments and Snacks
The artwork shall feature some food and/or drink typically served as refreshment or snack. “Traditional” basically means something that would typically be homemade/handmade, in contrast to products that were developed by the food industry like chocolate bars and chips you’ll find in the supermarket. It’s up to you if you show only the consumables themselves, the preparation, or people enjoying it.

I don’t know if optional challenges have to be technical, if it may be an additional topic restriction, I’d encourage you to choose something that has a seasonal or local relation.

You are joking!

As I first saw your entry for this month, I could not resist dropping that line above ↑ because you’ve hit the nail on the head, both thematically and artistically.

Okay, not every picture one posts may (or must) be a masterpiece, but most of yours are very presentable to very good for my taste (maybe because I like that style, but I think more likely because they are good), and you do not hide those pictures you criticize for whatever reason, this is something I like so much with a portfolio like yours.

So your win is more than deserved, congratulations!

:bowing_man:

And many thanks to all other participants, it was another wonderfully entertaining month thanks to you and your contributions! :+1:

Congrats on a really fun submission!

I Love it! I have so many ideas, no idea how I’ll get to even half of them! No blank canvases this time, promise!

Congratulations!

You must be kidding, like @Michelist said.

How about only using 3 colours as a challenge?
