@Katamaheen - Very nice use of the 3pt tool! As I looked closer, I noticed that your little guy at the bottom had such a big smile and liked that touch! Adventure awaits!
Beautiful and thought-provoking!
@gekkonen @Elixiah @steve.improvthis Thank you
I like how you can sense the wet sand, very nice.
This reminds me a little of a scene from Stargate SG-1, not that it’s in any way the same, it just made me think of it.
This is my entry. I only sketched this because unfortunately : 1. I don’t color well. 2. I don’t draw people or animals better than matches men…
It’s about someone mistakenly lit up the cursed candle and didn’t put it off anyway. The moon gets dark, the chains start to shake and the window is about to collapse! Most of all, high away in the sky, something is approching! Magical advanture ahead, hope folks inside the story a good luck.
This is my second entry.
The story behind the picture:
One day, a mysterious pool arose in front of Susan’s house. The little girl was curious and went out to look. To her suprise, the scene in the pool was not reflections! Magical world right there, pool being a portal or not? Advanture laying ahead, dear Susan, jump into the rabbit hole when you’re ready!
What a very creative story for your entry @Appentice ! No need to say “only” or “unfortunately” if you’re satisfied with what you’ve created! Some of my favorite artists (Ty Wilson and Patrick Nagel come to mind right away) didn’t color “well”… and they drew just a little more detail than what a stick figure might have.
I’ve found that when I change my perspective around the things I don’t believe I’m doing well and when I give up any judgment around my work being ‘good enough’… that’s when I’m able to put pen to screen, lean in, and build up my skills in the areas I’d like to improve for myself.
Thanks.
As a folk crazy about art, I have written (or thinking of) stories for a long time but only several days ago got a drawing tablet, before which I didn’t have much chance (if drawing cars on examination paper doesn’t count) to actually draw stuff (no more than 10 times in nearly 20 years).
So that’s why my story setting might (actually, in my mind, should) be more interesting than my drawings now.
It is indeed true that we are more likely to start when we don’t expect much! Anyway, starting is always the hardest part for achieving things.
@Appentice’s images merged into a single post. Thanks, @Michelist (I deleted the original posts once done)
My Submissions for this month (more info in the discussion topic)
Rainy Night
The Door
Sunny Beach Bike Ride
Nice color patterning style.
It looks like paper cut art to me, impressive.
that’s too cool you mentioned stargate. Stargate was my original idea for this prompt, but I had to ditch it due to time constraints.
I have never seen the series, but I love the 90’s movie.
Cool! Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis are my favorite tv shows.
my entry for this month.
I’m terrible at composition, so advance apologies if it hurt someone’s eyes. lol!
@usamafirdous At first glance, I thought that the person running was a wearing an eye mask, so I was thinking you painted a robber running away, with the eagle and the plane participating in the race very dream-like in a sense
Haha, would have been a cool idea
Wow, the building, the boy, and the eagle really stand out! They look real, outweighing the plane:)
Very fun @sooz ! I especially like that the internet’s personification has its head in the clouds!
As January is coming to a close, so is our time together on this month’s Magical Adventure. It’s been so cool to see how everyone interpreted this month’s topic and inspiring to watch those who decided to take on the optional challenge around “focus” build their compositions.
I hope you had a ton of fun creating your art for this month’s Magical Adventure! There are so many exceptional ideas this month, once again it’s going to be challenging to vote!
Hep! Wait a minute before concluding! LOL Here’s my entry!
Since I was late and tired, I had to make some accommodations: I simplified the valley below the bridge, let the fantasy castle be only a silhouette, and since the general landscape wasn’t as good as I would have liked, I decided to crop a little bit, to focus more on the characters.
(As much as I can admire them, landscapes were never my thing to paint anyway, I wonder why I even started this! LOL)
