Nice @Corentin! As you may have noticed, I’m much more comfortable with landscapes than I am with painting people. I really like the way you’ve captured their fun adventure action scene here!
Something that helped me with landscapes in general was watching James Julier’s Procreate tutorial videos. He walks through his process in a detailed step-by-step way including brushes, opacity, colors, etc. and why he’s making those choices. I found it rather easy to follow along with him in Krita once I was able to find or create brushes to mimic what he was using on the iPad. It also had me learning a ton about Krita’s capabilities as I looked to copy what Procreate was able to do. If you have a moment between challenges, I highly recommend checking out his YouTube videos as a way to work with landscapes. JamesJulier-Artist
I’m not really sure I want to post this, but I suppose I might as well…
I wanted to do something less literal and more decorative. I only did one thumbnail then resized it and worked over that - just experimenting as I went.
I mainly used a watercolour style brush I made years ago - I wanted to keep it loose and natural looking. Sometimes I deliberately choose brushes that are useless for fine detail to discourage fussiness.
Of course - I did rush to try and make the deadline so I’m not really satisfied with the result. It was still worth doing though - even if just to get the motor running again!

Yeah - I do like the challenge of different themes, but fantasy is really my main focus. I’ve done similar pieces for previous challenges here so that’s one reason I wanted to try and push the style in another direction.
@sooz It’s late now for me so I’ll post the new theme tomorrow - I’ve already got a few ideas.
Thanks everyone for going on the magical adventure this month! I know many have said it again this month but it bears repeating, I was so impressed with everyone’s entries! It just gets more and more difficult to assign my votes each month!
