Monthly Art Challenge WIPs and Discussion Thread – April 2024

The first color session, I couldn’t help myself in already starting on my color holds for the spider, I just love doing this light direction!
I’m also having a lot of fun experimenting with the Rakurri brush set that I never used before

Here’s a process timelapse of this morning’s work

I think this is done, but I have to sleep on it
Feel free to point out any flaws or things that could be improved upon!

I’m not sure how this is going in terms of colour, I’m using a similar gamut mask similar to @Konstrukto

I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I can’t see this one in the main thread. It was one of my favs :pensive:

Hi again !

t’s slowly taking shape. For some reason I’ve decided to do a lot of small details, and this is not time consuming at all.
(Please don’t look at the screenshot below)

I’m going to redo some of the mechanical parts because I’m not happy with them. That should be quicker than redoing the feathers three times from scratch (which of course I did)!

Don’t mind the background, because I’m not quite sure what I’m going to do with it at the moment (in fact I use it more as a place where I scribble shapes to relax)

Cheers !

Pretty nice, I would however say that you need a focal point in your color scheme
i.e. giving your main subject a color that makes it stand out more

Will foxes come back?

Oh yeah! I’m just going to try drawing proper foxes 2 or 3 times, fail and figure it out, and then it will be good (I hope)

Cats are popular, and cats are curious! (And sometimes curious-looking)

I did finally start working on my idea the other day, a cat looking up under a total solar eclipse. Just a rough version.

Seven (arbitrary) colors: black, white, two greys, and a blue, orange, and green.
