Hey guys, you know what a vampire and an invisible man have in common? :innocent:

They see can see behind themselves , when looking into the mirror

That’s one way to express it!

They’ll never know if they’re having a bad hair day. :person_shrugging:

Started this today… no idea if I’ll finish in time. Thinking of playing around with the Lily Mist pack as she dances on water. :person_shrugging:

Magical Dancer

Got a bit further… not going to finish in time. If I get it to a happy place I’ll post it here later.

@Corentin I didn’t make this in Krita (it’s a vector illustration in Illustrator I did for an assignment) but this was the only angle I could come up with to get the point across!

(Glad I had time to see it! LOL) I went for something a bit more sideways but we could still see the vampire’s clothes… But it wasn’t clear enough why she was angry and overall the image lacked harmony so I changed my mind.

I miss seeing @iruhas sketchbook post, and all his entries for the monthly contest.

His last post say he will be busy. Hopefully we will see him sooner than September

I finally did it. Probably the most complex illustration I have done recently

The concept was meant to be viewer interpreted. Either the infant reflection was disappointed in the adult, or the adult was looking in regret or disdain at the baby in the mirror. Maybe he has a “Big Baby” complex, or maybe this was a child he’d never known? I roughly used a selfie as a model. Too much going on right now to finish, but I did want to show an effort. :face_exhaling:

Finished a little more…too late.

The first idea I managed to draw was a tree reflecting off some water. But it’s from my head, so it’s really boring and lacking in detail. It’s hard to tell what’s going on.

So I looked through my photos for references of reflections and I remembered this one. But since it’s from a photo, there’s a lot of detail which I would have to figure out how to simplify. It’s a tree and clouds reflecting off some water in a birdbath, next to a blooming hibiscus.

The range of values isn’t as much as it should be, there’s not enough sense of depth. The birdbath is too small, but then I forgot to fix it before detailing it, so there’s a bunch of boring empty space around it. Maybe if I spent more time on it than mostly two hours last night of “I should work on this so I can post the WIP before the month ends”, it would be better .

For comparison’s sake, (a very compressed version of) my photo. The reflection is almost like a portal to another world.

reflection is the external substance that shows our internal true form by reflecting ourselves back to us… hope the work explains more and please don’t hesitate to drop critiques. Thank you

This is so nice… I wish it made it on time for the deadline

Ahh bums, missed the deadline. No way I would have made it. They kept me in hospital for blooming ages and now I’m at home in bed not knowing what day of the week it is. (I’m fine though).
Try again next time.
Nice entries everyone! It’s nice just to look through them all and see the chat anyway.
