Sounds like a great suggestion @Jimplex! Worked out a quick sketch, now it’s time grab some colors and get painting! Can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with this month!
I bet a lot of people will try to combine 2 different meanings of “reflection” by painting someone thinking in front of whatever mirroring surface!

Love it! The kind of image you can “relax in” once it’s finished like the figure in the image itself.
Artwork should be done in Krita. Submissions must be done from scratch in Krita, no paint-over or tracing allowed. Photobashing is allowed only when explicitly specified in the topic.
What about thumbnails and exploration? Can those be done traditionally?

I thought of something like this. What do you think about the composition? 
Should I change the canvas proportions?
@BeARToys I would use the mirror tool for the board so it’s exactly symmetrical. Composition wise it looks good so far.

lol… and that scene has reflections too.
@BeARToys I think it would be better to widen your canvas so we can at least see the chess pieces complete on the sides… And maybe it would be nice to give an effect to those letters, as if they were carved on the board or something?

@Elixiah Is she sitting on wet sand/thin film of water? Would she be reflected?
@edgarej I haven’t decided yet Lol. Although she is doing some mental reflecting, I think I’ll put some sun reflecting on the sea or something. Dunno.

Question: I have an idea of what to do for this one - I want to check would using a copyrighted character be allowed? As in, it’s all my own art and composition etc, created just for this challenge, but using a cartoon/movie character. So fan art basically with the ‘reflection’ theme.
Ooh–I’ve got a feeling the final is going to be GOOD! Looking forward to seeing it!
