LOL I’m the same… Not really into drawing sci-fi. At least I have started a sketch today! Woooh!
But generally speaking it seems like this month’s theme didn’t inspire so many people compared to the previous months. Unless they will all be last minute entries?
I thought it was an interesting-sounding topic, but I had a hard time coming up with ideas. A few days ago I wrote down some ideas and roughly put them down on the canvas;
Some kind of weird modern sustainable-type building with solar panels and lots of glass, a wildflower garden (as opposed to some high-maintenance one), a rain barrel (aka a unidentifiable cylinder), a bicycle (as opposed to a car), a simple tool like a rake (as opposed to a leaf blower).
Basically, I wanted to focus on the optimistic and present/near future side of it. And I guess gardening was the only thing I could think of?
For the rough idea of the flowers, I used the ‘inkT 16 Texture Leafs Details’ brush, modified to add some texture and hue variation.
Anyway, I didn’t really interpret it in a sci-fi way at all. It seemed like a pretty broad topic where you could take it in a lot of directions, so I’m curious what other directions people will take it in.
One week before the deadline
I was trying to find ideas for my third entry. I probably won’t focus on buildings or environments like my first and second entries. Maybe it will focus on vehicles, or the relationship between humans and robots? or robots and animals? I will open this sketch again tomorrow, maybe a new inspiration will appear.
continuing yesterday’s sketch, and another idea suddenly came to me after seeing on the local news that there was a solar power plant covering a large dam that was still under construction. And I wanted to draw it.
