Oh, quick clarification. Does the work have to be started for the contest specifically, or can I use one from a while ago that’s on my site already and enter that?

@DaveyJJ If you created it from scratch using Krita software…I think that you are good to go!

thank you

My first entry for Feb 2023 contest~

I love to do portraits and mostly with lines and monochromatic colours.
This contest kind of gave me an opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and try different things with textures. I am a newbie to Krita… still figuring out things…so this contest also gives me an opportunity to try out brushes in an indepth manner and in a constructive way.

Thanks to awesome community here on the forum…the time I spend here keeps me motivated and inspired to contribute more!

In this work I mostly used @Deevad Brushes…
Thank you, David Revoy for your awesome brushes and also your contribution for the development of software…last but not least, your youtube videos are just so edutaining!!!

I started a discussion on this a while ago, I don’t think any conclusion was reached though: Contest format and rules discussion

Thanks! From my own reading it seems as long as it’s created in Krita, it’s good to enter, as nothing seems to indicate otherwise.

Hi
I managed to finish a painting without spreading myself too thin for once

Oh, and I thought about doing a timelapse, but for some reason the file is almost 50GB…
I’m going to try to edit it though.

I would think it’s ok to use an older piece if it matched the month’s topic. Things can come up and we just don’t get around to the current month’s topic. That said… I also think one of the reasons we do these contests is to develop skill and practice on subjects we normally wouldn’t paint. I know for myself, I won’t get out of my comfort zone unless it’s a challenge like this. After I start it though, then I’m glad I did because I always learn something new.

This is my second entry for the “Rocks” contest. It’s actually the one I started for last December’s topic “A Shelter from the Cold” but I didn’t get it finished in time. I just finished it today, and it has rocks, so thought I’d enter it.
