Tried softening the cabin edges a little, hoping this looks a little better

Very good composition! I like the mood of your piece. I feel the edges of your objects are a little too clear. The hard edges set them apart from the background and don’t quite blend together into the same image. Especially with the suggestion of fog. Those areas could seem more obscured. Hope this helps!

Don’t feel bad at all for missing things. I’ve been drawing digitally for nearly 7 years now and I too can miss the obvious. 
Not to worry, though. It’s all part of the process! That’s why we ask each other.
