@Celestial_Kitsune99: Please try to use inclusive language instead of slang that hardly anyone understands except in the backyards of your suburb.

Always remember that this is an international forum with users from all over the world and of all ages, and not everyone understands English. And those who use a translator often get back meaningless gap-filled texts when these translators get input like yours, as many translators cannot yet cope with slang, thus excluding these people. There is a reason why we do not allow languages other than English, and slang is, at best, gibberish for insiders, but by no means an open language that everyone can understand.
Thank you!

Michelist

i really don’t see the issue, can u tell me what exactly the issue is? i didn’t think i used slang. . .

Okay, then this way, as you asked for it:
Then call it gibberish, it is at least not open language, but to be honest, I consider the following quote as slang, even when you don’t notice it because you seem to live in a bubble where this kind of abused English seems to be cool:

I described very well why I asked you to use standard English, because you exclude everyone who has issues to understand English well or needs to use a translator because they don’t know English at all, and translators regularly can’t translate texts like that one above, at least not good. This forum is an international forum.

And the fact you can’t see the issue, although I explained it clearly to you, can point in different directions:

  • You can not understand it, because the text length of my explanation is far beyond your attention span. (Perhaps too much input? )
  • You don’t understand it because in your neighborhood that is standard, but it is by far not standard English which we need here to not exclude those from the discussions who have issues understanding English or need translators, because translators don’t know what your text imitations meaning may be.
  • As someone who acts like a kid, or a just teen, you seem to be unable or unwilling to accept or understand it, because you don’t make things wrong, it’s always the others. But look around, who uses language like yours so massively? No one says anything when sometimes such a word finds its way into a text, but you are overdoing it. And self-awareness or self-reflection are foreign to you. A forum is a community in which people have to deal with another according to given rules, and these are to obey by everyone.
  • But:

You don’t want to see it, because then you have to change your behavior: “Ohh, that is so bad, I should behave like everyone …”, nope, only in a way that anyone has a chance to understand you, because we want to understand you.

Michelist

to your points: the problem isn’t that i don’t get that there’s an issue, it’s that i want to know EXACTLY what I did wrong so that i can correct it, instead of just receiving a (to me) very vague and confusing explanation that i should use more inclusive language

it being standard in my neighborhood is hardly a reason i would type like that, i learned how to type like that from the many people ive met online on Tumblr and Discord

also, u say i act like a kid or a just teen. i am. i was a tween just a couple years ago (i am older that 13 but i make a point of not telling people online my age so don’t ask), how old did u think i am T~T

when i say ‘i don’t see the issue’, i don’t mean as ‘i have no idea what underlying issue you’re talking abt’, i mean it as ‘your explanation is too vague for me and i don’t know what specifics you’re talking abt and that confuses me to no end’

and also (mostly unrelated to this conversation, this is basically a tangent). . . i do not find abusing English to be cool in the slightest, i aim to be a writer. . .

@Michelist @Celestial_Kitsune99 I’m sorry to disrupt, but is there a way for you two to continue your conversation in private?

@Celestial_Kitsune99 I think he’s talking about your use of word abbreviations and acronyms. They are commonly used in social media here in the US, but confusing to those who don’t speak English, and it also confuses the auto-translator.

(Also, many old-timers have trouble with all these abbreviations and acronyms as well… myself included  )

Examples you used are: rlly, pfp, ur, OwO
Hope this helps.
