These brushes are a port of mtPaint’s pixel pattern brushes. There are 100 brushes in the bundle free to download.

By the way: If anyone’s browser claims this bundle is malicious, as mine did, that is not true, I scanned it using VirusTotal and all 66 virus scanners reported the file is clean!

I didn’t realized the bundle could be flagged as malicious seeing as the contents of the .ZIP is only a .bundle file, a README text file, and a .PNG file. My guess is it was flagged because it’s being hosted on a custom domain. But thank you for sharing the report and reassuring others the file is okay.

Now this is pretty cool. I mistook this at first for one of those MS-DOS painting programs like deluxe paint 2 or PCPaint or whatnot, but since mtPaint came out in 2004, not that far off I suppose.

mtPaint feels a bit like those old MS-DOS programs both in terms of its interface and the brushes that are available, though obviously being made in 2004 it has some modern features I’ve never seen in those old programs (like filters, animation interpolation).

I’m personally a fan of the MS-DOS look being a pixel artist so I designed the cover image to look kind of old school. I think it fits the vibe of the brushes.
