every time I start a stroke, it lags for half a second and then jumps to where my pen is, making a straight line, it only happens maybe 80% of the time. the issue isn’t my pen, or my tablet, because I’ve gone into other programs and the problem doesn’t persist, vie even uninstalled, then reinstalled krita, nothing works, brush smoothness fixes nothing, there is no solution I can find, and it only happens to wit the pen, its fine with my mouse/finger. I have found someone who had the exact same problem 4 years ago, and the photos they provided are identical to what is happening on my end.

Hi @Dilyn
That’s very common. Usually it happens to users who recently installed Krita on Windows but haven’t completed the setup with the tablet driver.
Give us a little more info and we can probably help you.
- What OS? Windows? macOS?
- Are you using a tablet or are you using a 2-in-1 laptop?
Hello @Dilyn and welcome to the forum
Also, if you’re using a tablet, which make and model is it?
Try disabling Windows Ink in the tablet settings and selecting Wintab in the krita settings.
