ok, so when I open Krita everything’s normal but when I go to draw the pen pressure won’t work? I’ve looked up this problem for my specific laptop but nothing ever comes up. I go into the toolbar config settings and pen pressure is selected? I have the little pen pressure short cut buttons at the top and everything but nothing works? everything is up to date and I’m not sure if it’s a bug but I really would like help with this as I want to animate with Krita and I want to use it bc it seems like a really good program. I’m not sure if this has something to do with my laptop but I would like to know if it is thanks.
I think your laptop is a 2-in-1 device where you draw on the screen with a stylus?
If so, are you using the stylus that came with the laptop or did you buy a ‘compatible’ one? (If so, which one did you buy?)
Putting the pen pressure icon onto the toolbar doesn’t actually do anything except give you the ability to turn pen pressure sensitivity on and off within krita.
So, look at the pen pressure icon and make sure it doesn’t have a little ‘x’ at its lower right corner. If it does, click it to make the ‘x’ disappear so that pen pressure is enabled within krita.
Even if that icon doesn’t have a little ‘x’ on it, your pen pressure still won’t work because this is a problem with the signals that the laptop is sending to krita.
Do Settings → Configure Krita → Tablet settings and look to see if it’s set to Wintab or Windows Ink.
Whatever it’s set to, click the other one to change it, then press the OK button and restart krita to see if that gives you pen pressure signals.
Test for pen pressure by using the Basic-2 Opacity or the Basic-5 Size brush presets and report on what you see.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! in the configure Krita wintab was selected and I switched it to windows ink now the pressure works perfectly fine. again thank you for helping me out appreciate it
