Need help changing background behind canvas

I don’t know how it happened, but the color behind the canvas (which is usually grey) is white. It’s just annoying because I can’t tell where the edge is. How do I change it back to grey? I tried looking it up but can’t find anything, so I messed around in the settings for an hour and still couldn’t figure it out. I colored the canvas black in the picture.

Yes, in settings, Display, Grid Settings, then change Canvas border Colour.

It may not seem to work first off, but when I tried it I just opened up the window again and it changed.
