Hi, I’m new to Krita. So I have a question- how might I change the layer thumbnail image background (the little image that appears when I hover my cursor over a layer)? I don’t see anywhere I can do this, but the backgrounds of the thumbnail images are all black and so it’s difficult to see what I’m drawing on them.
Welcome to the community, @Olivia_Schwickerath ![]()
Settings > Configure Krita… > Display > Canvas Decoration.
There you can change the checkerboard colors (and even the size) under Transparency Checkerboard. But don’t forget that it will also change the canvas’ checkerboard.
Oops, I misunderstood ![]()
You can change the theme under Settings > Themes
or you can look for a plugin, like this one:
Is there a way to change the color of the layers thumbnails without changing the color of the background? Not the canvas, but behind the layers panel and such.
Sorry, can you take a screenshot and indicate what you want to change?
It won’t let me. Says the screenshot is too big. Basically, I want to change the little picture that pops up when you run your mouse over a layer but I’d like to not change the background behind the layers panel and stuff if I could. But, if not, I guess that’s fine
Yeah, no… I tried the plugin again and the whole thing changes… I guess you tried it too, now that I read your second message again ![]()
Maybe you could try to do that with coding? Sadly, I can’t help you with that, and I don’t think there’s another way. Sorry, I think I kind of wasted your time there ![]()
It’s okay, don’t worry about it. It’s not a big deal
