I’ve been making use of the Book Splitter plug-in, and it’s been hugely helpful. My only wish-list item would be to have the ability to make the cut width set to a negative value.
Would this be possible?

Hmm, it should be possible to make it so that cut width can be negative.
I’ll take a look at it, at end of the week.

That would be amazing! It’s being used for a texts getting ingested into a digital archive. It’s not uncommon for some of the materials to have problematic bindings that lose text in the gutter or don’t lie straight.
In these cases, it’d super useful to be able to include just a few pixels from either side of the guideline that would overlap when laid side by side, just to assure patrons that they’re not missing any text that might otherwise be visible, or to help them decipher text if they’re viewing the work in a one-up at a time page view.
I had a system that worked pretty ok for this in Photoshop, but, you know, Photoshop. And Krita is otherwise much better for setting the split line. Getting that little sliver on the gutter on both pages is the only thing missing now, so getting it back would be wonderful.
New version of plugin is available at new Book Splitter Plug-in.
