Normally it should be compatible with Krita 5, but I didn’t tested it yet.
If there’s incompatibility, I’ll try to fix it.
Did you encountered any particular problem?
Concerning differences between Newspaper plugin and Krita’s halftone plugin, this is because method to produce halftoning is not the same:
- procedural method for Krita’s plugin (ie: for what i understood, value of each pixels is calculated; @Deif_Lou can confirm I’m right or not
) - image analysis based on a grid + basic circles drawing
@Deif_Lou just made some improvements on Krita’s halftoning plugin (Screentone quality of Krita 4.4.x - #48 by Deif_Lou); they’re not yet available in Krita 5 (MR is asked) but when available I invite you to check if produced result is good enough for your case
