No more 32 bit version for windows?

So I guess there’s no more support for 32 bit windows anymore. I was wondering way it wasn’t updated yesterday and now it’s gone?

Yes the 4.4.5 release notes say so:

Note that from this release on we are not making 32 bits Windows builds anymore.

I disagree with this. I noticed bugs that wasn’t a big issue in 4.4.3 that are more troublesome in 4.4.5.

I don’t understand what you’re trying to say…

In any case, creating the 32-bit builds was using a lot of resources for a handful of users, most of which probably could use the 64-bit one anyway (heck the last x86 CPUs incapable of running 64-bit software are like 15+ years old, most of them single-core and any compatible video card probably hasn’t had driver updates in years…)

Also it got harder and harder to build it reliably, as the 32-bit build tools were hitting their limits. To my knowledge it was already impossible to build the G’Mic plugin at this point.

Again I strongly disagree, I’ve been using 32 bit builds of krita even though I could run a 64 bit version. But I would run it on a pentium 4 and it doesn’t run to bad with windows 7 ultimate. So yeah I strongly disagree. And like I said the reason why I suspect that the pan tool automatically selects itself and would allow me to select another tool because of the dropped 32 bit build. It was an issue on 4.4.3 but I was able to force it to select a paint tool or any other tool when it locked up

Now I can’t do that, I have to save what I’m doing and close krita then restart it.

You still should be able to compile it yourself if you absolutely need it (it isn’t too hard). I just want to add that Windows 7 is not supported anymore too. Its 10 years old and Microsoft stopped supporting it over a year ago.

The problem (among others) with 32 bit versions is that your memory is capped at 4 GB and Krita can easily need more for big projects.
