I wrote around 5 paragraphs, and I don’t even know if what I write is valid notes or just ranting.
Anyway, this is drawing pose without reference. Turn everything into base variables and it is easier to tweak them. I think the key point is to understand the core variables. Say for a pose sketch, I think the core variable is perspective, shape, and lines. Sketch doesn’t need to be pretty, just need to know what shape, how much space it is going to fill, in what angle of view, and what’re the lines gonna be to create the right shapes. It is necessary to understand not every edge needs a line, but sometimes even there is no edge in the shape it still need a line that works as form indicator rather than as contour lines.
A bit more note. Vi’s gauntlet has major problem. I talked to @zeki a bit before about similar stuff, when something is already have lineart, shaded even, but after a while (several days) my eyes adjusted correctly with the illustration and realize the glaring mistakes. This happens a lot, one of the reason why I tested an easier drawing like the one above this post. Yes I think a drawing of full body character with simple clothing is much easier than Industrial design, but each person struggles differently.

If I edit, most likely just an update from the same day, just different drawing session. Anyway I am back to 3 drawing sessions a day I think even tho it is still shorter than usual. Hand is still stiff around base of the thumb, but I’ll manage. It’s hard to do precision brush stroke (brush stroke that run in one continuous sweep and on point) without proper grip.
