Hi all, sometimes while i am testing something i get involved for more time than expected. This case deserves it because it was testing the latest change of @dkazakov in color smudge using RGBA brushtips. Super cool feature that need to be tested and opens a new door for creativity.
@RamonM I love all the artwork and the brushes you’ve created with these features! I think there’s even yet a lot of untapped potential for even more powerful brushes using the lightness and gradient features, and I look forward to everything you and the rest of the community create with them!
The primary change is that RGBA brushtips will be usable with smudge engine brushes, which currently isn’t possible in 4.4.2. There are also some issues with the smudge engine that this fixes too.
@dkazakov yeah, I thought that was the only real solution to the positive feedback loop issue, but opening that Pandora’s box was something I didn’t want to do myself, so I’m glad to see you’re doing it
I’m curious how you’re implementing that: will there just be a single master heightmap layer, or will each paint layer have its own heightmap associated with it? Will the heightmap layer(s) be visible to the user? Those were some of the questions that made me decide not to even attempt that route
I used a link provided by @dkazakov in the IRC weekly meeting of Krita. Maybe he is still updating things and improving speed and this kind of impressive things that he does usually ;). I am still testing but this time is going to be slower.
