The eyes are the most important part of any portrait whether bird or human and if they are not right then the work likely fails. :frowning:

I should probably have expressed myself more precisely in order to make the underlying thought more clearly recognizable. :thinking:

I was referring to the way the ostrich looks at us. In other words, the facial expression in which the clouded and half-closed right eye turned towards us, which I consider to be definitive in @kacart’s approach, together with the beak, which currently still appears unfinished, seems to represent something like slyness or something close to slyness.
