Page Thumbnail Template

This is my first time sharing a resource so I hope I’m doing this right.

I make comic strips as a hobby and picture books as a school requirement so I always find myself making thumbnails. Thumbnails are a good asset to help me see the big picture without worrying too much about the details. That being said, I found it to be a hassle to constantly draw a new box each time I thumbnail a new page and they’re not of the same size. I know it’s not a big deal, but I want to focus on drawing the things inside* the box.

That is why I recently made a template.

It’s nothing too fancy. It’s a full page of uniform boxes–5 rows and 10 columns to be more precise. That’s a total of 50 thumbnails. There’s a separated sketch layer where I can draw without interfering with the frames. The boxes are portrait oriented, so if you want to go landscape, maybe you could flip it.

I’m currently using it for my comic project and I like it so far. I am sharing it because I thought maybe you would find it useful too. All you have to do is open the file and save it as a template!

If you want to draw a box, I think this plug-in may help (although it’s a comic plug-in…)
