I’m copying entirely within Krita, i.e. this is not an inter-app issue.
I have opened an image with a color profile. Now, when I select a region, Copy (Ctrl-C) and select Paste Into New Image, I get a popup saying
“Missing Color Profile
The image data you are trying to paste has no color profile information”
… and offering sRGB or monitor color profile, neither of which is correct since the color profile of the file I’m copying from has a scanner ICC profile.
It seems to me that Krita should know the color profile when doing paste from Krita?
Hello @Sami_Liedes and welcome to the forum
Can you make the image that you opened available using a link to a file download service (no login or registration requirement please).
Someone who knows about colour profiles may be able to examine this situation.
If the image is confidential/sensitive then you could scan something else and send that instead.

Sure! In fact it seems to happen with any image with a color profile.
Now I’m running on Linux and sway (Wayland), in case that is in any case relevant. And if there’s somewhere you want me to dig deeper, I can (including gdb krita) likely without much hand holding, if you just tell me where you’d like me to look.
For a good test case, I found images from this page: (link to DisplayCAL site removed because I can only add two links as a new user)
For example, take this PNG named ICC Rendering Intent Test, taken from that site: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qT8OFUXfgydMZaNAcnmGggp44RnlPGJF/view?usp=drive_link
Here’s a screen recording of what I see: https://drive.google.com/file/d/13hdpLefc-O88HZ86Cn3jDSUCKUvvUjhY/view?usp=drive_link
Yes, I see what’s happening but I don’t get involved with colour profiles and colour managed workflows and their various complications so I don’t understand why it’s happening.
Please wait for someone who knows about this subject area to notice and maybe look at the situation.
