Pen contstantly grabbing

Hi there! so i’ve been using your program for two years and not ran into a problem i couldnt fix, but this one has me stumped! trying to do anything is impossible because any time i put my pen near the tablet, it uses the grab tool and moves my drawing. I dont understand how it’s doing this, as even if i hold space it needs to click on the page while moving! but somehow just moving my pen above it is moving my drawing.
i tried restarting and everything but i cant seem to figure it out! please help

Sounds like a bugged tablet driver that reports middle “mouse” button as pressed whenever the stylus comes into proximity.

But without any info about OS, tablet and krita version there isn’t really any basis for advice…

I ran into this problem too and I tried everything. I assume you have a pen with a programmable side button . How i solved it was when i looked at “configure krita” setting under “canvas input”. In my case i use one of the side buttons on my pen to pan the screen. Unfortunately the canvas input setting got screwed up somehow and interfered with my desired middle button functions hence the hand grab was permanently applied.

So how i fixed it…

First check the input profile at top of “canvas input” Has that changed ? There is krita default, photoshop…etc. Each has its own hotkey defaults. Then check the “pan canvas” hot keys settings to see if the middle button is programmed. There might be conflicts. I never solved how it changed but i suspect it happened when i installed a plugin.

Unfortunately i cant tell you what the setting should be because it is customized to you.

You can always restore defaults at the bottom and rebuild the custom keys.

Anyway its a place to start.

Btw im on the latest krita.

Thats exactly what the problem was! At least im assuming so because when i got rid of the “gesture” and “middle button” shorcuts it hasnt happened since. Thank you so much for your help, it was honestly so frustrating. Appreciate the tip  :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
