Pen pressure not working ! :c

Hi!! Im new to both krita and this website, so pardon if i get things wrong.. Recently, i got a new tablet as an early birthday gift, along with an M-pen lite… and decided to try krita with it.. Oh it has been a great program so far! I love how customizable it is.. Although i have one problem, i have no pen pressure!! I tried testing it and sure enough krita detects it as a stylus, but despite how hard i press, the pressure stays at 15.3%.. As i said before, im using the M-Pen Lite.. Is there any way to fix this? Or do i have to get an m-pen that isnt lite? It literally has pressure on any art program EXCEPT krita…!! Great program tho c:

Can you show what the output of the tablet tester says in its entirety? It’s under Settings → Configure Krita → Tablet settings → Open Tablet Tester. Make one stroke in the grid on the left, then select the text on the right and paste it here.

Hm, yeah, that seems to just be inputting a fixed amount of pressure. There unfortunately isn’t really a way to get more information out of Krita, but Drawpile uses the same system under the hood and it might be possible to figure out the problem through that.

The alpha version is needed for it, that’s available from https://github.com/drawpile/Drawpile/releases/tag/continuous. Scroll down, under “Assets” there is an “Android APK 64 Bit” you can install.

First thing to test would be if pressure works there. It should have the same problem, since it’s the same code.

It also has the tablet tester under Help > Tablet Tester. You can check whether it also always shows this 15-ish% pressure.

Then, under Tools > Developer Tools > Debug Input Events, there’s a tool that will just show the raw information in Android. It doesn’t matter where you press down your stylus, you can use the blank area next to the close button for a spot that doesn’t do anything. Normally, pressure comes out of the 0.PRESSURE value, do you see that sticking at around 0.15 as well? Can you find some other input that seems to actually respond to pressure?

I wonder if the global pressure curve in Krita’s settings might be set to a constant flat line but I’m not sure if the tester even uses the global curve.

No, it doesn’t interact with the global pressure curve, it just outputs properties of Qt’s tablet events.

Hello!! Unfortunately the pressure is staying at 15, specifically 0.152588..

I tried to research more on the causes and decided to look at some reasons related to my pen and tablet.. Then i realized that my m-pen lite isnt fit for my tablet. I needed at least an 2nd generation pencil for this which is 6000 pesos in my country.. Thats why there was no pressure sensitivity and all the other art programs were just tricking me with such an illusion that can only daze fools like me… ahhhh i shouldve researched this earlier im so sorry im so embarrased hum hum sorry for bothering, , , thx a lot tho!! the art program you recommended seemed quite nice

I don’t think that’s correct, as far as I can tell from Huawei’s documentation,the M-Pen Lite is supposed to support 2048 pressure levels.

Maybe an odd compatibility issue?

@Flathemine it looks like M-Pen Lite is compatible only with HUAWEI MatePad 11.5 (2025) & HUAWEI MatePad SE 11. Is your Matepad the 2025 version, or another one?
