I don’t know if anybody else ran into this problem but my pressure sensitivity only works when my pen is off-set. When I have WinTab selected from Tablet Settings my cursor is off-set but my pressure sensitivity works. Then, if I switch it to Windows 8+ Pointer Output (Windows Ink), my pen is correct but my pressure sensitivity doesn’t work. I also have the Pen Pressure Use enabled yet it still doesn’t work. I tried changing the sensitivity from Tablet Settings but its still continues to bail. I then went to my computer settings to see if it was the problem but that was also a bust. And I’m not at all sure why its acting up like this because the pressure sensitivity for the Gaomon pen itself works completely fine. Overall I don’t know what I’m missing and I’m left stumped. Any advice is appreciated, thank you.
By ‘Off set’ do you mean the curser is off somewhere it shouldn’t be and not where your stylus nib meets the tablet? If that is the case, it sounds like a simple case of picking that setting so the pressure sensitivity works, and then recalibrating your pen with the tablet. There should be a setting for this in the tablet where it will ask you press on many dots across the screen in order to get the curser back to corresponding with the nib.
Just want to make sure, did you also switch GAOMEN driver panel to windows ink, and restart krita?
The Gaomon PD1560 is a display tablet and so is performing as an additional monitor for the computer. The size of the main monitor is very probably different from the Gaomon display and that can cause confusion.
Try swapping the Primary and Secondary displays over at the Windows system level.
That often works in this situation.
Yes I did, I tried it multiple times but it still didn’t work.
When I tried to do that, my cursor was still off set, everything just worked the same as it did previously.
So I just tried doing that right now, my cursor is no longer off set on WinTab or Windows Ink but not my pressure won’t work at all
Your screenshot shows that the Gaomon tablet settings have been allocated to ‘All Programs’ as a general profile.
You should create a specific profile for krita, close/reopen the tablet utility, then select that profile and make sure the settings are correct for it.
Are you sure that the Wintab vs Windows Ink choice has been setup at both sides, i.e. in the krita settings and in the tablet settings?
Also, to be sure, after changing any settings in the tablet or in krita, close the tablet utility and also restart krita.
Edit:Add: And another thing… Have you checked on the Gaomon website to make sure that you have the latest driver update installed?
If not, please do that.
Remember to fully uninstall the old driver, restart your computer, install the new driver (following the procedure instructions in the manual), then restart your computer and open the tablet utility and go through all of the advice again.
This is what it’s like setting up tablets and getting them working.
Well I’ll be darned! I just needed to install the latest version, the one I had was from 2021. Thanks so much!
