It would be cool to have the pencil tool to vector like in Illustrator. It would be easier to draw vector. And the pencil have some brush types as well. And also the smooth tool.
Could you please elaborate a bit for us who don’t have or never have worked with Illustrator. How should it work in you opinion. What problem does it solve? Krita has no pencil tool. You mean the freehand brush tool or the calligraphy tool (which actually does draw vector shapes).
The free hand tool is in brush, and the calligraphy one as far as I seen from the tool it has only creates with that shape of the nanquim pen, the pencil it is a calligraphy tool but you can change the format of it or the tip and It creates in vector. And the smooth tool is for when you create a vector and it has all that point, the smooth tool makes it with less points, making it easier to manipulate the vector later.
I guess that this plugin could be similar to the smooth tool you describe:
