Pixelart brush snapping to grid

I’m pixelart artist and I’m trying to use Krita. But pixelart brushes snapping to grid and it’s very uncomfortable. So can I somehow fix it?

What do you mean? The brushes work in exact pixels so the grid could only be the pixels of the image itself (Krita doesn’t use subpixels I think).

I mean, the brush sticks to the pixel grid and doesn’t move smoothly

If you’ve turned on Sharpness in the brush editor, it will do that.
It helps you to see which pixel it will paint.

I really wish there was a way to disable that other than disabling sharpness as a whole. As sharpness helps avoiding antializing in the brushes but the snapping is terrible.

Thank you! It helped!

Disabling sharpness dont affect on antialiasing in default pixel brush so it’s not a big deal. But with Dithering brush it have affect. So i disable sharpness only on default pixelart brush.

@Andrew_Dilman , do you have “snap to grid” turned in the grids and rulers docker?

I’ve just submitted a merge request to allow that behavior to be configurable to the brush. You can find it here: Make Sharpness option's outline alignment behavior optional (!1405) · Merge requests · Graphics / Krita · GitLab.

If accepted, it should be a part of Krita 5.1.
