Hi so I been trying the whole day to render this animation I made as a GIF, I installed FFMpeg and everything but everytime I try to render, this message pops up, for those who don’t speak Spanish, it says “The animation could not be rendered:
FFMpeg has failed to convert the image sequence. Check the existing log file in the output directory for more information.”
It don’t know what it means and I can’t find anything on the internet, I hope you guys can help me :(((

Do you have any kind of anti-virus or other non-Windows security software running on your computer.
If you do, either tell it that krita and ffmpeg can be trusted, or disable it.
In the same folder as the rendered destination .mp4 file, there will be a file called log_encode.log.
If it still fails, can you make that available via a link to a file sharing service or website or pastebin service?
The file is quite long so please don’t post it on the forum.
Hi, thanks for answering! I already have that ffmpeg version, my krita version is 4.1.7 and I also tried disabling the antivirus, but it still doesn’t work, I’ll send to you the pastebin link with the log_encode.log archive <3
You really should update to version 4.4.2 before you do anything.
There is a problem with creating an intermediate file at the output location:
C:/Users/adm/Desktop/frame%04d.gif: No such file or directory
This does not usually happen and can indicate file permission problems or an active antivirus/security service preventing or quarantining files.
Are you the only and the main user of the computer?
Was your user account the first account that was created?
Can you render again but make the output location a subfolder of your Documents folder. e.g. Make a folder called ‘rendertest’ in there and set that as the output location folder.
Also, for the Render options, choose Both instead of Video. This should create and keep a set of .png files that are the individual frames of the animated output.
After rendering, check for the existence of those .png files and have a quick look to make sure the images inside them are ‘reasonable and believable’.
After that, you can delete them.
