Possible Bug - Sometimes Touch Is Not Recognized in Krita 6.0.1

Hello,

I recently downloaded the latest Krita 6.0.1, due to its compatibility with Wayland and I noticed a possible bug. While I am drawing, I have the touchscreen enabled, which I use to pan, rotate, and zoom. I noticed that as I try to zoom out, it sometimes stops. Krita does not freezer, it only stops recognizing the zoom out on canvas and then starts and stops randomly again. I am able to draw and nothing else is wrong, which leads me to believe this might be a bug since the other programs that I use do not exhibit the same behavior when I zoom in and out.

I previously had another question in regards to not being able to use the comics manager docker in Krita, which I no longer have in this version.

Thank you for your hard work and the wonderful program that Krita is!

System Information

Nobara Official NV 43 (March 28, 2026 version)

Wayland

NVUDIA GEFORCE RTX4070

Wacom Cintiq Pro 27

After further testing, the issue persists in Krita 6.0.1 but not in Krita 5.3.1. I hope that this is thus a bug/regression that can be easily fixed.

Thank you for your hard work.

My setup is also affected.

Two finger pan+zoom+rotate only works, and for a single time only, after using some of these gui elements: zoom slider, translucency, brush size, choosing color from palette, selecting a new tool or brush or layer.

It also worked after interacting with the overview docker in 6.0.1-3.1 (cachyos repo) but it is not any more (6.0.1-5.1)

Thinkpad X1 Yoga touchscreen, Krita 6.0.1, wayland/sway.

Just tested it works perfectly under plasma+kwin - so it could be a sway thing. Can anyone here help me how to investigate further?

I know little if anything about this area of operation but can you both please ensure that you are testing with the official appimage and not any installation from a Linux distribution repository?

Hello @AhabGreybeard

The version of Krita were downloaded from the official krita.org. 5.3.1 was downloaded from Download | Krita and 6.0.1 was downloaded from Krita 5.3.1 Released! | Krita. I only use appimages, integrated into my system using AppImage Launcher v3 beta 2 from Release Release v3.0.0-beta-2 · TheAssassin/AppImageLauncher · GitHub
