I was wondering why I couldn’t print right from Krita as can be done in Gimp and found an answer that putting it in hadn’t worked well. But… Can Krita devs copy any code from Gimp to make this possible, or is that not allowed?
Hi
It should not be too difficult to generate basic print of rgb document
but there’s many thing you might want to manage to get something fully functionnal with all colorspaces and page layout options
Personnaly if I have to print a document, I use software dedicated for that (on Linux I use Scribus)
Grum999
Ok, I’d use Gimp because I’m most familiar with that.
Scribus will give you cmyk support if you need it for print.
I remember that Gimp had cmyk. I played with it quite a while ago. It separated the colors as if making a printing plate. I thought that was cool (I used to be in the printing industry as a plate maker.)
Thanks for the suggestion. I might check Scribus out one day, now I’m curious about it.
Yeah it has export I think in the nightly versions. Earlier the separation was handled by plugin I may be wrong. But scribus will give you soft proofing too.
