Problem regarding the brush "Pencil 1 sketch (MyPaint)

Hello, i am currently facing a problem regarding a brush i’m always using, the Pencil 1 sketch, from MyPaint.
My problem is, that out of nowhere, my brush has become de-saturated, meaning that instead of drawing in black for example, the color is grey; even trought the opacity is at a 100 percent. And i have no memories changing any of the brush options.

When i load old files in krita, the problem is gone, and when i try the brush in the testing sceen of the brush options, it’s gone too

I really have no idea why it’s happening and i really need help, since it’s one of the only brushes i’m using.
thank you so much

It’s either an issue with the color space or the layer but it’s hard to tell without seeing the whole workspace.

i trought that at first, but i don’t think it’s an issue with the color space or layer, since i tried with other brushes and everything seems normal. Plus, the brush isn’t on multiply or else, so it has no reason to act this way

You could try resetting the brush, the tiny circling arrow button next to where you can rename the preset. But when you say it’s not happening in older files it’s probably something with the file itself. Which color space does the file have?

this is my workspace, everything seems to be normal, i checked every options and stuff

Sadly the color space information at the bottom, in the status bar, is cropped off.

You have the dynamic brush tool active, does the issue persist when you change to the freehand brush tool, or even straight line tool?

the problem persists even with the freehand tool, yes

here’s a better screenshot

It looks like you’re in linear color space. Do you normaly work in linear? Try making a new file and select sRGB-elle-V2-srgbtrc.icc instead

I think it’s a limitation of the myPaint engine that it only works correctly in non-linear sRGB.
