Problems with huion pen - buy a replacement or change the tablet?

Some time ago my huio610 pro pen stopped to charge properly. So - reluctancly - I bought a new one.
This month the “new” stopped to respond despite it was charged a week ago and I usally use it an hour a day.
I see that Polish Huion page doesn’t have this pen anymore and the possible replacement - HUION Piórko PEN68 do 420,  H420,  H58L,  680S, H610, NEW 1060PLUS - works on battery… Which I wouldn’t like, because of the weight of the pen (the original one is super light Pióro ładowane Huion P80 do tabletu graficznego - Huion Polska).

I don’t know… Should I take the battery one or… should I invest in another cheaper tablet from Huion? The one I’ve got still works without major issues, the surface definately looks used, but gives no problems… I mean wouldn’t it be a waste to trash it at this condition?
Ugh, but that battery pen… I kinda don’t like the idea…
Or maybe I’m silly, I don’t know.
What should I do?

I appears that my tablet is 9 years old XD
I guess this answers my question…
(still works wonderfully thou)

Well, replace it, if you have the money. There are many new models. Maybe get one without charging

I’m thinking about this one - Huion H610X tablet graficzny - Huion Polska

Sounds not bad.

Unfortunately your pen broke a few days too late  , on Black Friday I saw several very interesting offers.
If you have a little time, it might be worth looking out for the limited-time offers on Amazon. That’s how I got a discount of around €35 on my current Huion NEW H1060P, which I thought was pretty good. And such offers are actually relatively common on Amazon, at least in Germany, but I don’t think there are very big international differences on Amazon and hope for your sake that you could also benefit from them.
Furthermore, there are often very good discounts directly at Huion Europe, it is important to pay attention to the shipping costs and the small print (but they don’t seem to be cut-throat).
That’s why it seems worth to always check their website to see if you can take a good chance.

Add: It was really cool ~18 months ago when Huion opened their European office, they were offering discounts of up to €600-700 on the top models.

yeah, just my luck ^^;

I don’t have a credit card, so I don’t shop on amazon - I’m looking only for shops that offers COA (many of them deleted the option thou).

I don’t have a credit card either, but at least here in Germany, Amazon accepts payment by direct debit. This is very convenient and secure for me, and I haven’t had any problems with them in over 20 years.

This model looks decent, but I haven’t used it personally. It’s a bit older and the pen is entry-level. Let me browse a bit, maybe I can find you a better deal (I’m also based in Poland).

Hi @Pisarka, here are my thoughts

  • if you want to go for the low price, then H610X may be a good choice, as it offers pretty large active area. However, it has a low-end PW100 pen that uses old Pen Tech 2.0. I didn’t use this device, but I used to have H950P tablet, which actually costs more than H610X, and I didn’t like how it felt. The surface was really slippery and the pen had a thick nib. I would be surprised if using H610X feels better. Still, I’m sure it would be perfectly serviceable and an upgrade over your battery pen!

    • I couldn’t find a review video from a source that I trust.
  • If you want to go for a more premium tablet, I would consider Frego M, which is a new device with PW550S slim pen, which is much, much better than PW100. It supports felt nibs.

  • There’s also middle ground like Inspiroy 2M. It is a bit smaller than the other two, but has a really nice surface texture and a lot of buttons.

Personally, I would save a bit more and go with Frego. It’s a new model with a good pen. As for the other brands, I think you’d have to pay more for this size and quality, e.g. like XP-Pen Deco Pro Gen2 MW would cost over 600 PLN.

I hope this helps, good luck!

oh, wow, thank you so much for taking your time! so kind of you!

I checked the reviews you provided and they both look fine.

My laptop is pretty weak and I do not own a tablet or smartphone, so I’m afraid a lot of that super new tech is going to waste ^^;

Inspiroy 2M looks neat with those buttons and scroller, but… ugh, the smaller actice area worries me a bit (I have 254 x 159 mm now and its pretty comfortable).

Oh well, I’ll be pondering about it…

Thank you again!!!

I agree that the bigger area is better, but if your screen is small, like 15 inch, then a smaller tablet may still work pretty well.

I think you can just go with the cheapest one and test it carefully to not scratch it. If it feels bad, you can always return it within 2 weeks and try something else.

What tablet do you use right now?

I pretty much switched to Intuos Pro Large (PTH-860), because it has a really good pen with great pressure response and low activation force. My secondary tablet is Huion Giano (G930L) and I have several pens for it, PW517 which is the default, as well as PW550. Both these pens are worse than Wacom’s, but depending on the type of drawing/painting you do, it may not really matter. I still like Giano very much, the driver is simple, and pen tracking and tablet surface are perfect. It’s great pleasure to use either of these devices, although I needed to fiddle with the settings more with Wacom.

I’m on Windows 11, by the way, so this is speaking from Windows experience perspective.
