Hi! New to Krita from Procreate. Switching to consolidate operating systems for character and ID design workflows.
I’m sorely missing the Procreate ability to draw a line, curve or ellipse, hold it for a moment so that it snaps into a perfect line/curve/ellipse, then adjust it before dropping the line to “print” it onto the canvas. This feature also gives me great control over the line weight while drawing ellipses, etc. There seem to be some workarounds in Krita, but nothing as seamless as what I’m used to. Since the switch from iPad to pen tablet is ultimately intended to be a time saver, this matters to me.
Being new, I would also welcome an explanation of how experienced users draw raster controlled curves and circles (including line weight control) in the current state. I’ve seen the methods from this tutorial, but they don’t achieve what I’m looking for. Line smoothing and full vector workflows are not what I’m after: 4 methods to draw smooth lines or curves in Krita - Resources / Tutorials - Krita Artists
I’ll say upfront that I’m sure I could adjust to a more complex workflow within reason, but these Procreate features are so fast and intuitive that I’d be sad to go on without them indefinitely.
EDIT:
I’ve gotten adjusted to using Krita’s guidelines, which I feel are quite powerful and can, with a lot more inputs, ultimately achieve the results I’m looking for. That said, it seems even more clear to me that having Procreate-style automatic shapes and curves would expedite certain operations pretty massively. Just wanted to pop back in to voice appreciation for the nuanced tools that already exist and give some slightly more informed color to the feature request.
