Python Select a Layer with API?

I have been looking into the API and there is no actual way to select a layer right?

I see stuff like move, rename, parents and childs but not change the selection of the layer.

Yes, there is no API method for setting selected nodes. There is bug / wishlist in tracker

And little workaround using KisLayerBox docker.

setActiveNode does not change active node

If you realy like to edit current node and selected nodes following script can be used. Oh the bug tracker this is not good at all …

Still requesting info without making the actual request as always. Maybe a year to acknowledge the bug and maybe after who knows I never got that far.

But I guess I should drop this idea. It will be an incomplete plugin. it was being to easy to make. up until now after all. I will just carry on.
