Quills a Brushpack for Digital Calligraphy and Freehand Lettering (Tilt/Elevation & Barrel Rotation)

Hi Everyone,

" The resurgence of calligraphy in 2024 is a fascinating journey that underscores its timeless allure and remarkable ability to adapt to the ever-evolving digital age. This ancient art form, deeply steeped in history, has experienced a renaissance that transcends traditional boundaries. With its rich cultural heritage and unique visual language, calligraphy has found a renewed place in the hearts and minds of enthusiasts and artists as it gracefully bridges the gap between history and modernity. The resurgence of calligraphy in 2024 is a testament to the enduring power of artistic expression and the human need for connection to our heritage.

Calligraphy also plays a crucial role in cultural preservation. By learning and practicing historical scripts, calligraphers keep alive a part of our cultural heritage that might otherwise be lost. Museums and cultural institutions often collaborate with calligraphers to recreate historical documents or provide insights into different cultures’ calligraphic arts. In 2024, calligraphy stands as a bridge between the past and the present, a fusion of historical artistry and contemporary creativity. Its resurgence is a testament to the human desire for beauty, personal expression, and connection to our cultural roots. As we navigate a world increasingly dominated by digital technology, calligraphy remains a poignant reminder of the enduring power of the human touch in art. "

I’ve deleted one of your images because it contains drawn text that is not allowed to be displayed on the forum.

Thanks I was not aware , so changed it !

The Bundle is coming together.

To be clear this bundle’s focus is on live creation of strokes, brushtip, textures and shapes.
Angle modifications tilt, elevation, draw direction, and barrel rotation it is possiblle to write live and edit afterwards to create polished Calligraphy

Also the starting and ending caps to recreate look and feel of natural media meaning the use of nibs just like when using a bendable nib made from steel brass or a goose feather.

Most current brush packs are premade. Consisting of swirls and the look of certain strokes this is something diffrent. with the amount of tweaks and possibilities in Krita it is possible to create natural looking effect and be editable for fine detail and polish

If i can achieve these goals. I would like to make a nice package for it with multiple small but indepth tutorials

Maybe like a sort of Hub for all things related to writen art Calligraphy & Lettering
where topics like tricks and workflow can be shared for everyone interrested and using Krita in this fashion.

Any input and tips are welcome!
Maybe even some collab?
Leave a reaction to let me know what you think would like to gauge how many would like something like this to be available in Krita

Hey, thank you for making this

I want to incorporate calligraphy into my webcomic (one of my characters is a calligrapher & writes a lot in cursive) and that will be very useful. All other ink-like brushes I’ve found are very flat and do not create beautiful curves and strokes.
