I think daVinci Resolve should do the trick, at least if you split the job in 4 or 5 smaller batches and stitch them together at the end of the process. But after all I’ve heard, I think these steps in between aren’t necessary with Resolve.
That error message is because ffmpeg tried to access a file that did not exist, i.e. the first of many missing files.
I suspect that recording at 1 canvas capture per second, while painting on a 4k x 4k canvas and saving those 4k x 4k images was very stressful for krita and that it failed many times.
There is a limit to how many frames can be displayed per second in a video.
If there are more frames than can be displayed in a given time interval then some of them must be discarded.
In future, for painting sessions that last for over an hour, I’d suggest that you use a capture interval of maybe 4 seconds and do the capture at 1k x 1k.
To use the existing frames, you’ll need to fix the gaps in the number sequence.
If I was doing this, I’d manually discard many frames because they will not be seen, unless you make a 15.5 hour video.
I put it into DaVinci in batches about 5 and it worked perfectly!! I can now delete the 45gig jpg file
Thank you all for the help! I still cannot export the time lapse from Krita but I have not yet updated to 6. Either way can make my time lapses fine in DaVinci!
In regards to using that link/zip folder to update to Krita 6, are your instructions for Mac or PC?
I do not see a “unpack” function to send the zip files contents to the correct places in my C drive or have I misunderstood. I am on Windows.
When you say:
“you have to point Krita to the file “ffmpeg.exe” in the folder “bin” of the unpacked ZIP archive.”
How do I do that? I looked in the Krita program and I couldn’t find a manual update dropdown or anything?
