This time I spent about 18 hours and 45 minutes to complete this piece. The little story portrays a small confrontation between a farmer who wants to protect his land and a group of red cultists which seem to be an annoyance rather than a serious threat, because this type of battles are pretty common in this fantasy world. Hence, the face of the farmer is relaxed and devoid of any fear. Just wanted to paint something a bit closer to an illustration with background, a certain amount of details and perspective. Let me know what you think!
Thank you for the comment! That’s probably because I was trying to pull off both perspective and foreshortening at the same time. The idea is that the farmer is standing a bit turned to the side which makes the left arm a little bit shorter, but the forearm pulled a little bit forward with the sword should have made a certain effect of foreshortening which adds to the size at the bottom of the arm. Definitely need to practice this more.
