REQUEST - More Signals to be Made Available to the Python Side

I’ve been working on developing features for my plugin Touchify and have hit a couple massive roadblocks in terms of performance of the plugin, due to reliance on QTimers since signals don’t exist for several things we can set and get, such as…

  • Background and Foreground Colors Changing
  • Brush Size, Opacity, Flow, etc. Changing
  • Node Selection Changing
  • Blending Modes Changing

I’ve noticed that there are signals for many of these already in Krita’s C++ source code and figured it wouldn’t be TOO hard to provide to Python Script developers unless I’m missing something entirely.

I don’t know whether @Grum999 still plans to continue working on it some point.

Hi

The MR is in stand-by: the way it has been implemented seems to be not correct and i’m waiting for a feedback about a direction to take for a “right” implementation of points 4 & 5.

I don’t want to spent time on this if it’s to have to redo an implementation again.

Also, I prefer to finish the #MR 2201 before but for this one too I’m waiting for a feedback before being able to continue.

At the end, don’t expect to get the signals before Krita 5.3 or 5.4 I think.
