Resource bugs in Krita 5

Hi, speaking of today’s version it crashes too much when touching any part of the interface

You mean 5f5333? Can you please tell which parts of the interface you touched? Or maybe you could check in Help → Show Krita log for bug reports if there are any asserts reported, would be good to know what part of Krita is crashing so hard.

I tried on another pc, I found out that it is because of the Preset Docker if I close it I can use Krita without problems, the problem is that I cannot choose the brushes, unless I use Pop-up Palette.

And I think this happens from the Prealpha - 0c88aa263e, in the Prealpha-5a989ef730 this does not happen to me (in windows).

@SchrodingerCat This has been fixed in the latest (and recent) nightly appimage so the Windows nightly build should be fine tomorrow morning.

Oh perfect! Thank you so much  , now I can update my brushes.

I’m currently using today’s nightly, 3e73485639 (which means that my resource database has been reset anyway). The ABR files were always in the Brushes folder—I did not move them either before or after upgrading. After checking further, some ABR files appear correctly, some others don’t: from what I see in the DB Browser, the ABR files are all listed in the storages table, but the contents of many of the ABR files are missing from the resources table.

Sorry, I don’t think I can upload the database: it seems that I have so many resources, the SQlite file is quite literally 350mb.

Here are some freely available ABR files that show up in the list of resources, but whose contents are not listed:

  1. Cloud Brushes I and Cloud Brushes II by Paolo Puggioni: these all used to work in Krita 4.4, but now only PP-Clouds02.abr is displayed correctly.
  2. Jungle & Foliage Brushes and City Brushset by Devin Elle Kurtz.
  3. Skin Texture Photoshop Brushes and Skin Care v2 Photoshop Brushes by KeepWaiting.

I had a backup resource folder in the resource folder left from 2.9 which got imported from  and the bundle 2015-04-17_deevadkrita_V6.bundle had patterns that cause a crash when selected. And I had one of those patterns(same name) on a new brush I use. Now removed, all good.

hi @tiar i’ve noticed that when adding a bundle from the resource manager, the file is copied at the root of the resource folder, not in the ‘bundles’ subfolder as before, is it normal?

Yes, I think it is normal now in Krita 5.0. If you start Krita after moving the resource folder somewhere else (to simulate a “new user” resources environment) the default bundles are copied to the main folder too.
Though if you notice any issues, like if you get two the same default bundles, please do report.
