Having Krita to automatically apply new settings just for a plugin/bundle doesn’t make any sense. That could potentially screw up the program if Krita had the mind to do that.
It does not make sense to do this automatically, but an option in File menu, along with Quit, Close etc. would be good. After installing a plugin, user can just go to File>Restart. (assuming this is possible)
What I am suggesting is not to restart it when the app wants it. But more like a menu entry. Like File → Restart (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R)
With ridiculous shortcut just to avoid user pressing it accidentally
Again I suggest not automatically apply something and restart. I suggest adding the possibility to restart software by user request. Something like PyCharm does if restart of application is needed.
In my case, when I develop plugin (specifically with dockers) I need to close krita. Then open menu and start krita again. I mean it is not a big deal. But being able to just press “restart” would make experience of development so much more pleasant
Having to restart krita to fix his tablet. Sounds like crazyest fix ever. Blender also does not have issues like that. Aleast I never saw what he described on any program I just think it is the tablet itself not the softwares he uses.
But strange to hear normal useres asking for it too.
I honestly don’t see a point in doing this, i think it could be done with a python plugin but i don’t see any improvement in having a function for restarting the program, to me it would work better as a plugin that people can add if needed.
Yup. There will be someone out there that make a troll plugin that restarts on a start up and lock inexperienced users out of the program with this. And they will stop using Krita because uninstalling and reinstalling will not work.
