he’s a really complex character
he’s one of the characters who i will gen get mad abt ppl portraying him with one or two-dimensional personality. he’s not some sarcastic, self-absorbed, arrogant idiot, he’s gen one of the best characters in the game
i write a lot of Zelda fanfic, and he’s one of my fav characters to write, his snarkyness, the way he keeps up his (one-sided) rivalry with Link, the way he insists that he’s easily the best of the Champions, it’s all bc he’s scared of being vulnerable, or being seen as weak. he insists that he’s the strongest because he’s always felt that he has to be the strongest, that he can’t show weakness, that he’s Rito Champion and the greatest Rito warrior and it’s his duty so he can’t be vulnerable. . . which makes him a bit like Link, doesn’t it?
uhhhhhh, i promise i didn’t mean for that to turn into a rant about the way i write Revali. . .

Very well articulate stance about Revali, and I agree wholeheartedly. Also, his not so pleasant attitude toward Link is because he worked his whole life to be the best rito warrior. Among the champions, Revali was the only commoner with unknown ties to royalty nor chief. He developed “Revali’s Gale” all on his own. In Revali’s POV, Link just shows up upstaging everyone pretty easily and became a knight seemingly overnight.

that’s pretty much exactly why i hate ppl writing Revali as a flat, one-dimentional ‘angry bird’, people who portray him like that need to stop and think for a moment, cause that’s ten billion percent not true
I’ve only ever read/heard abt the Champions Ballad dlc, and not in very much detail, but i know that it goes into the Champions and stuff. . . but even in the base game u can see Revali, see that there’s more too him the way he acts on the surface. . .
