rotatable mirror axis & some thoughts

Hello,
I was working with Krita and it’s very useful mirror tool. I had the Idea, it would be cool if I could rotate the mirror axis. You can already move them on the canvas, all they need is a second handle for rotating them.

Then I remembered the multibrush tool can exactly do that.
It’s kind of a redundancy here - not wrong or useless, but in direct comparition the multibrush is the much more flexible tool for this kind of work. I know there are diffrences how they are supposed to be used. The mirror tool is for quick and simple mirroring while the multibrush can be used for more complex operations.
Are there plans to improve the functionality of the mirror tool by adding some features of the multibrush (especially the ability to rotate the mirror axis) or even merge their functionality entirely into one tool in a more distant future?

With mirror tool, do you mean the one when you press the M key?

No. I mean those.

I actually call them most of the time “symmetry axis”, but they are referenced as “mirror tool” in the manual.

I am not sure if mirror works like that internally. I think it needs the document axis to flip and only does that.

Perhaps the multi brush would be better equipped for it.

Good point. I didn’t think of that. It seems just a bit weird because of the redundancy.
I like how easy and fast accessible the mirror tool is. The multibrush has the better functionality but can’t be used with other tools than the brush.
This is very theoretical but it would be great if I could have the best from both worlds. Probably a bit redesigning the multibrush to be better accessible and easier to use could help. I like the big lines with the handles of the mirror tool. The multibrush needs its docker for configuration. maybe some of the configurations (position, rotation) could be placed on the canvas in a similar way to be more intuitive?

I was checking and the multi brush tool does have a mirror mode and does rotate.
the handles to click on are super minimal and a bit hard to adjust the mirror handles are better for sure.
