This one is fresh from today (and a couple of days before) !
This is a quick study. I wanted to stay zoomed out and focus on the main characteristics of the picture rather than detail. It’s so hard to resist. But I sticked to my decision.

Fantastic brush work! Reminds me of John Singer Sargent’s style. Love the colors too.

Yeah, detailing is pretty fun, but it takes so much time!

Also I think it would’ve been even more of an effective study if you’d just kept the reference upside down and then paint it upside down. That way you would see everything as abstract shapes only, so you can focus more on “how things look” and not “how things should look”. It’s pretty useful and really makes things ‘click’ in your brain
