Save file problem

Hello, I have a problem with my save file. During one of the saves, my PC crashed. After restarting, the save file became corrupted and won’t work again. Neither renaming it to zip or using the same file with a ~ at the end not helped. What should I do?

Please provide an English translation of the error message.

Renaming to .zip is the initial part of a process that uses a zip recovery tool to repair a .zip archive, which is what a .kra file is. The zip recovery tool is an independent application that you need to download. There are different ones available.

If you’ve saved the file before with no problem then there should be a file called filename.kra~ which is the last backup file. Rename that to filename-backup.kra and try to open it.
Frequent and regular saving is a good idea to maintain the backup file in a recent condition.

The file in the error message has a name like filename(2).kra. That usually indicates that it is the second copy of filename.kra made in the same folder. Have you been making copies for some purpose?

I made this copy already when the file itself was corrupted, I thought it would help somehow.
Unfortunately, renaming the file to -backup.kra didn’t help in any way, as well as third-party recovery tools didn’t help, maybe if I share these files with you, you can help in some way?
here is the link to Google drive with this files

I downloaded those files one is заказ2.kra size 35.9MB. The other is заказ2.kra~ size 3.6MB.
They are both unrecoverable because their entire contents is 00 in every byte.

Something went seriously wrong during the Save action. The Save action also renames the existing .kra file as -.kra~ (as the backup) and saves the current krita document (inside the krita application) as the new .kra file.

Can you open any other .kra files that you made previously?

Can you make a new .kra file that works, is saved properly and can be reopened properly?

I suggest that you perform those tests and checks with krita and also with other applications in case the problem is more widespread.

Yes, I already did some new files, they worked correctly

Then all I can suggest is that you keep a watchful eye on the situation in future and look after your .kra~ backup files.
Another useful thing you can do is make regular backup copies of important .kra files onto a removable drive (e.g a usb memory stick) in case of future problems.

Well, thanks for help
