Saving Artworks as png will include background layers which should not be included

Hello dear Krita community,

I’m using Krita to create my Pen&Paper tokens. So far, it has been working like a charm. But starting today, I ran into a big issue. I use multiple layers for each token. I have one layer for a background picture, one layer for the character artwork and one layer for the frame of the token. I also add transparency masks to the background and the character artwork, to erase certain parts of the pictures, so that they look like 3D. I edit my pictures in the .kra format. Once I’m done, I save them as .png to later upload them to a Foundry VTT server. But starting from today, when I save my token as png, it also includes some dark parts of the formerly erased backgrounds. If I view those png fiels in Krita, the transparency masks are still applied correctly. But if I open them outside of Krita, some of the background is still included.

I’m aware, that if I’m saving my files as png, some of the information is lost. The thing is. In the last couple of month, it did work for some tokens already. The background showing up only happened starting from today for some of my tokens.

Can anybody help me with this issue?

Picture 1 is a token where it did work fine.

Picture 2 is a token where the issue occures.

Perhaps due to the dark background of the page I’m unable to see the issue. Can you maybe circle it in red or something to point us in the right direction.

Well, I tried downloading it and both the site and my file manager are showing that it’s a transparent PNG just fine, nor I can see any artifacts

Or did I got it wrong?
