Scratchpad questions!

I’ve been wondering, since I’ve sat on it a bit & I do prefer using a more “palette” type of docker that allows me to mix colors, instead of using “paint slots” or grids… so, here I am, with some questions about the scratchpad. Because it’s really outside my zone & I didn’t find much about the below (or maybe I just missed some stuff!).

  • Is it possible to assign a different .icc to the scratchpad, like what can be done with the color selector?
  • can the scratchpad receive canvas touch input, like long-pressing for a color picker, or does that part need to be made manually?

Those are the big two I have at the moment,! Will return to this when I get something more solid, but definitely am curious about the full extent of its capabilities! :kiki_yum:

No, there’s no function for that. I’m not sure what color profile it uses, actually, since even if I change the image to greyscale the scratchpad is still RGB.

Scratchpad’s input handling is limited to hardcoded middle-click to pan and right-click to color sample, judging by KisScratchPad::modeFromButton. (It would be nice if it used the custom shortcuts instead.)

Noted. Thank you for the answer! Will definitely help moving forward.

Kind of sad that it does feel a little wee bit underbaked, but at least now I know what I’m working with :kiki_sweat_smile: Guess this is gonna get a bit more complicated than I thought, whoops
