Also when I overwrite a brush it removes it from my tag and removing it and adding it to my tag doesn’t work. Neither does adding it to any tag. I have to restart krita for it to work.
The second issue is something that we are currently working on.
The first one - try switching to the other API in Configure Krita -> Display -> Canvas Graphics Acceleration if you’re on Windows.

I normally have graphics acceleration off cause I thought that’d make it run better. I have a windows 10 laptop with an intel hd graphics 530 card. Turning on graphics acceleration on auto worked. Cheers!
That’s a very outdated advice to turn it off. As the name suggests, it’s supposed to make everything faster, not slower 
And it is only slower on systems with terrible OpenGL or DirectX graphics drivers (it means mostly on OSX right now).
