Second Beta for Krita 5.2.0 Released - please help by testing and reporting bugs!

It just happens to store its config differently than other tools.
There was a bit of refactoring in the tool code that moved some things around and caused a warning/error, and the fix for that unintentionally led to the widget being initialized before said config, which was an easy thing to miss as only that one tool relied on it.
The crash was reported a week after the regression that caused it, and fixed a few days after that, but by oversight, only in the 5.3 branch. About two weeks later, it was re-reported (earlier in this thread) and fixed in the 5.2 branch as well. (As you’ve noted, that means the fix is in RC1.)

That is the purpose of beta testing: to make sure everything works correctly before a release, as it can be hard for the small team of developers and contributors to test all the intended and unintended consequences of their changes themselves, even when it happens to cause a major and highly user-visible bug.

When you compare this to a commerical software, it’s a different story: they probably have lots more developers and testers, and users only have access to the final, stable release.

Don’t worry about what the world thinks, do what your heart says  you can and are free to taste any fruit that suits your palette (deliberate typo with pun)

thanks everyone. I’ll spend some time with RC1 hopefully it fixed my momentary freezing problem. The problem was too random to replicate easily so I’ll start some new projects and see how it goes. Cheers

When i Create new layers it takes a bit of time for Krita creating it. in Krita 5.2.1. Why this happens?

Then we will talk in the meeting about this. Thanks @raghukamath
